Solo Travelling by Anıl Uzun

Top 5 destinations for Solo Travelling by Anıl Uzun

So many people ask me the question why I travel solo. I mean, why not? I, occasionally -on purpose- travel on my own. Solo travelling is a joy, because you are free. You can do what you want, you can eat what you like, sleep on a big bed on your own, have McDonalds for breakfast. Who cares? Take great selfies! Nobody around. Oh, that is a joy.

Here I will give you my top destination to travel on your own. Some destinations are nature, but they also include adventure.

Single Travel Ideas

TOP 5: Antarctica

You may be surprised because Antarctica is a rough environment and you may be intimidated by being on your own in a place when you are not familiar with the climate. I went there in the summer (january) because they told me the weather may be unpredictable in any other season and also I didn’t want to go there in winter and freeze to death. I travelled with a ship, tried kayaking, had a lot of good food on the ship, had a lot of great experiences, met a bunch of great people and definitely will go there again when lockdown ends.

TOP 4: India

I’ve been to New Delhi on my own. And that was a great experience. Here also I have met a lot of people. Here is the thing about solo travelling, you meet people. When you have a pack, you do not need anyone else, you have your group dynamics and you find your way altogether. But when you are alone, you socialize with other people and that is the thing that I love about travelling solo. I have many many friends from all around the world and that is a blessing.

I have stayed for about a month in New Delhi, and it is very safe to be on your own, ındia is not safe is an unpopular opinion. Have had the best Indian food. Learned a little bit of Hindi and had a great time. As long as you don’t drink tap water, you’ll be okay.

TOP 3: New Zealand

Want to have an adventure on your own, then head to New Zealand. I did a road trip by a camper van and I think that adventure was the best in my life. I have been to beautiful beaches, swam in lakes, slept in a cave, had a camp under stars in a beautiful pine forest, learned buschcratfing and became friends with sheep!

TOP 2: Paris

Go to Paris and flirt with people. You need to do this! Paris is an iconic city that you need to get the most by yourself. Have a glass of champagne on your own. Drink coffee made from the best Arabica beans, have the best wine in a fine dining restaurant. Spend as much time as you want in the Louvre Museum without the whining of your tired friends. Take a cruise in the Seine River and if you are single meet with the love of your life, maybe?

TOP 1: Tokyo

As you know, I am so in love with Tokyo! I think I’ll live there at some point, but before I manage that, I will keep promoting the city. Tokyo is a huge city, just like Istanbul. So, when you are travelling with a group of people it may be overwhelming. But when you are alone, you can find a table in a restaurant, you can take the metro hassle free. In addition, Tokyo is the best nightlife, I’m just saying…
